The quintet in the classical woodwind instrumentation plus French horn has prepared works by French composers for this concert, e.g. by Jacques Ibert, Georges Bizet, Charles Lefèbvre and Blai Maria Colomer i Pérez. The delightful combination of the various woodwind timbres with the horn has prompted many composers to write for this special instrumentation, and these sounds will be perfectly accentuated by the wonderful acoustics of the Bursfeld monastery church.
