Open Sunday in the medieval village of Steinrode

The medieval model village of Steinrode, Kohlenstraße 101, Hann. Münden, opens its doors to spontaneous visitors one Sunday a month from March to October. It starts on Sunday, March 15, 2026, 11 am to 5 pm. People aged 18 and over pay four euros admission, children and young people are free. Various games from ladder golf to mouse races are available, you can wrap little sheep out of wool at the do-it-yourself station and write with pen and ink in the church. A guided tour with information about the Steinrode project and the work of our association starts at around 1.30 pm. To quench your hunger and thirst, there will be a barbecue, coffee and cake at reasonable prices. If you want to try your hand at blacksmithing, you can do so with our blacksmith for a fee. We also offer two workshops on this Sunday for a participation fee of 5 euros each: Our herb woman invites you from 11.30 am to around 1.15 pm. After a tour under the motto "What's growing there?" there will be a practical application. You can make Easter decorations from wooden slices and twigs from 2.30 pm. Prior registration is not necessary, first come, first served, as was customary in the Middle Ages. We would like to politely point out that the consumption of food and drink brought along is not permitted on our open Sundays. Dogs are welcome, please keep them on a lead.
