Storm on Münden - Blood Pentecost 1626

guided tour/tour
Storming Münden 1626 - A town in the fire of the Thirty Years' War

Exactly 400 years ago, in 1626, the town of Münden was caught up in the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War: the troops of the imperial commander Count Johann T'Serclaes von Tilly advanced against the town - an event that left its mark on the town forever.

On this special tour, we follow the traces of this brutal attack:
Who was Tilly and what were the triggers, what was the state of the city at the time, how did the citizens live between hope and fear, what role did the city council play? Between old walls, battlements, towers and in central squares, this chapter of the city's history comes to life: Siege and storm, courageous resistance and despair.

Join us as we tell the true story of the "Storm of Münden", when the thunder of cannons and an army of mercenaries sealed the fate of the town.
