Hotel Die Sonne Frankenberg
The Relais & Châteaux Hotel Die Sonne Frankenberg lies in the middle of the homeland of the Brothers Grimm, not far from the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park. The hotel is nestled between an ensemble of charmingly restored half-timbered houses around the 500-year-old town hall.
The historical building is home to 60 individual, sunny, Mediterranean-like rooms and suites, some of which are still furnished with the original wooden beams.
Three restaurants offer a diverse range of sunny, culinary treats: from gourmet restaurant Philipp Soldan (awarded a Michelin star, 16 points in the Gault Millau, and other prizes), to Sonne Stuben with its sophisticated regional kitchen (awarded a BiB-Gourmand by the Michelin Guide), to Bistro Philippo and its Mediterranean delicacies, cocktail bar, and fireplace lounge. With its cigar service and sophisticated fireplace, the Tobacco Club exudes an English club atmosphere.
In our sauna, guests will feel like they’ve stepped into a fairy tale straight out of the Arabian Nights. Fine fragrances, an oriental-inspired atmosphere, and wonderful treatments in line with our holistic philosophy will all entice you to forget your everyday worries and relax. The 1000 m2 facility is filled with saunas, saline pools, a steam bath, an ice fountain, a tepidarium, and a silent area, creating a font of sublime relaxation.
