It serves education, devotion and recreation - the main cemetery in the North Holland district is a place of life. Nature and bird lovers also get their money's worth. More than 80 species of woody plants stand for diversity - the old tree populations impressively change the effect of the park in the course of the seasons.

Kassel personalities and botanical treasures

The gravesites commemorate such famous personalities as Louis Spohr, Ludwig Emil Grimm, Arnold Bode or the Henschel family of manufacturers. In the main cemetery, industrious gardening enthusiasts have gathered a number of botanical treasures over the years. Der Hauptfriedhof ist von Sonnenaufgang bis Sonnenuntergang geöffnet. Außerhalb dieser zeit ist das Betreten des Friedhofs nicht erlaubt. Die Tore werden jedoch nicht abgeschlossen.
