Der im nordhessischen Morschen lebende Künstler Eugen Mahler fixierte die Schalen von Miesmuscheln auf einer anderthalb Meter Durchmesser großen Holzplatte. Hell- und perlmuttglänzende Innenseiten der Muschelschalen stellen die sonnenbeschienene Seite des Mondes dar. Die blau-schwarzen äußeren Seiten zeichnen den Erdschatten. So scheint der Mond hoch zwischen den Bäumen zu schweben.
