The Ederseebahn cycle path is the attraction for cyclists in the Waldecker Land region. From the Hanseatic town of Korbach to Buhlen on Lake Edersee or the other way around, this family-friendly former railroad route leads.

The Hanseatic city of Korbach, the town of Waldeck and the municipality of Edertal invite you to a tour on one of the most spectacular bike paths in Hesse. Discover the Waldecker Land on the former route of the Ederseebahn, which once connected the Ruhr area or Amsterdam with the spa town of Bad Wildungen.

The asphalted cycle path is suitable for all cyclists with a maximum gradient of two percent. Refreshment stops along the way offer recreation, if nevertheless once a break is desired.

Along the way, many a relic bears witness to the railroad's past: picturesque bridges, old train stations, two tunnels and, above all, the 28-meter-high and 180 meters long viaduct in Waldeck-Selbach, a highlight of the tour.

The entrance to the Ederseebahn cycle path is on the southern outskirts of Korbach. Here there are good parking and rest facilities (also for motor homes), a repair station as well as information boards with information about the city of Korbach and the bike paths around the city. A restored historic locomotive and old signaling equipment are reminders of the old railroad line.
