Historic bakehouse, Im Graben 19, 11 am - 5 pm
The historic bakehouse dates back to the mid-19th century and is located on the site of the former mill. It was acquired by the Heimat und Kulturverein Lippoldshausen e. V. in 2024 in order to preserve it for posterity or to restore it and use it regularly. The baking oven was built from an unbaked clay brick, a baking oven of the same construction is not known.
It is difficult to find craftsmen for the historical construction of baking ovens, especially the materials used at that time are very difficult to obtain.
The roof of the oven has lost its tension due to sagging of the wooden substructure, parts of the clay bricks have sagged. As a result, the stove cannot be fired again until it is restored.
Notes:
The access route and parking facilities are on Iksbachstraße. The bakehouse can be seen and reached via the property "Im Graben 19". Signs are posted.
The street "Im Graben" is a very narrow one-way street where you cannot stop, let alone park.

It was probably built in the first half of the 13th century, when Münden was still under Thuringian rule. Since then, it has been part of an important long-distance route between western Germany and the Hanseatic region. Visitors learn what the old bridge has experienced in its 800-year history: Floods, ice drifts, trade, war campaigns and repeated construction work.
The Werra Bridge is a contemporary witness and an important component of overland trade, which, alongside river shipping, formed the second mainstay of Münden's long-distance trade, which was important for many centuries (keyword: Stapelrecht).
During the bloody conquest of the city in the Thirty Years' War in 1626, the bridge was the scene of a remarkable single act that saved the lives of several dozen citizens of Münden (keyword Asmus Teufel).
