Holiday home "Rosa Blume", Dr. Tobias Schmidt

This historic row house, built in 1764, is located in the former “Blume” settlement for artisans and day laborers in Hann. Münden. The historic building, which is listed, underwent extensive renovation over a period of more than two years, with much of the work done by the owners themselves.

Spanning approximately 114 square meters, the rooms are distributed across three living floors. Exposed clay half-timbering, old floorboards, and various historic design elements define the character of the house. The rooms include, among others, a so-called “knight’s room,” a “Kemenate,” a gallery, and an alcove.

Amenities also include a pellet stove, a quiet courtyard, and a balcony. Bicycles can be stored in a dry place in the hallway or in the shed.

Note: There are steep staircases between the three living floors. The house is therefore only partially suitable for people with limited mobility and for small children.

The third floor, which features two additional bedrooms or living rooms and a small bathroom with a toilet, is made available upon request, particularly when there are three or more overnight guests.

Amenities and Meals

Accommodation is generally offered without meals. Upon request, the “Bed and Bread” package can include seasonally available, homemade foods such as rye sourdough bread, jam, cheese, yogurt, or muesli.

A fully equipped kitchen is available for self-catering guests. This includes:

• Stove and convection oven

• Coffee capsule machine

• Electric kettle

• Refrigerator

• Dishwasher

• Dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils

For cyclists and motorcyclists

The host is an active road cyclist, mountain biker, and motorcyclist and is familiar with the routes in the region. Depending on your needs, the host can also provide recommendations for tours and access to available tools.

The house is located directly on a stage of the Tour de Energy in the Göttingen region.

Renovation and Historic Preservation

The goal of the renovation was to preserve the historic structure of the more than 250-year-old building while enabling it to serve a contemporary purpose.

As part of the work, the house was restored and technically modernized in accordance with historic preservation requirements. Amenities include, among other things, a gas condensing boiler for central heating, a pellet stove, and a hot water circulation system.

The building is fully furnished and can still be experienced as a historic residence. Careful treatment of the existing structure and furnishings is expressly requested.
