documenta hall
Background
The documenta - the world's largest exhibition of contemporary art - got its own exhibition building for the first time in 1992 with the documenta hall. The hall offers 1400 m² of exhibition space and almost 700 m² of other ancillary space for offices, a depot and a cafeteria.
The two architects Jourdan and Müller won awards for their architectural design. The exhibition areas are divided into a large hall, a side-lit hall and three cabinets. The hall has a total length of approx. 150 m and is just under 20 m wide at its widest point.
The documenta hall hosts changing exhibitions. The hall is closed between exhibitions.
