Der Freundschaftsstein befindet sich auf einer kleinen Erhebung innerhalb einer ehemaligen Mergelgrube am Premiumweg P11 Niester Riesen im ehemaligen Landschaftspark Gut Windhausen. Martin Ernst von Schlieffen ließ diesen Stein in einem damaligen Teich errichten und gestattete nur engsten Freunden Zugang zu diesem Ort.
