The museum is dedicated to the technical, entrepreneurial and social activities of the Henschel family of entrepreneurs from Kassel, which has written over 200 years of industrial and railroad history. Models and construction drawings on the development of the locomotive from the historic "Dragon" to the Transrapid form a focal point of the collection.

One focus of the collection is on models and construction drawings on the development of the locomotive from the historic "Dragon" to the Transrapid. In addition to the models, there are numerous exhibits on the history of the Henschel family, ranging from busts of the company bosses to a large-format painting by Sophie Henschel.
