Laserscape Kassel

Every Saturday after dark, the "Laserscape Kassel", installed by Horst H. Baumann for documenta 6 in 1977, shines over the city of Kassel.
Colored light network as a landmark of the documenta city

The "Laser-Environment documenta 6" was the first laser light sculpture to be realized in public space in 1977. At that time, the green and red beams shone from the Orangerie into the Karlsaue and from the Fridericianum to the Hercules Monument. The installation connected important cultural sites in the city. Today, the lighting has changed slightly: Another beam now runs from the Zwehrenturm to the tower of the Hessisches Landesmuseum. Horst H. Baumann's "Laserscape" is visible in the sky above Kassel every Saturday after dark.
