Water Traces
With the recognised Expo contribution "Water Traces", water was brought into the city centre in artistic form from the year 2000 onwards. In cooperation with citizens, students, planners, artists and administration, three central city centre squares were completely redesigned over a period of two years from an artistic, ecological and water-hydraulic point of view.
The results can be experienced: interactive water games and sound art, paving stones designed by citizens and artists, bronze and talking sound gullies, artistic humidity meters, water and mist-spewing stone stelae enrich the city centre.
Children, in particular, have fun at the fan fountain, where water jets can be directed. Scattered bronze and ceramic stones in the paving are further elements of the water traces, the end of which is marked by the bass plate at Doktor-Johann-Andreas-Eisenbart-Platz.
Let yourself be surprised and experience new aspects of urban design and artistic engagement with a medieval half-timbered town almost enveloped by water. The artists involved have inscribed their names on bronze blocks in the paving directly in the area of the water artworks.
Water trail
The traces of water are also a water theme on the Hann. Münden water trail. Numerous historical buildings and structures bear witness to the central importance of water for Hann. Münden, including the "Schlagden", weirs and sluices. You can experience why Hann. Münden is also called the "City of Water" on the Hann. Münden Water Trail! It is possible to enter the water trail at Doktorwerder, for example, but also at many other stations on the water trail.
